Looks like a immature oil spot. CO2 bubbles rise throught the glaze. The oil spot forms the spots after the bubble holes seal over. You need more time. Maybe a soak period at the end of the fire will allow the bubbles to smooth over. But, I think, that you are in the right way!! :-)
